Well, I did it!

Bought a 993 yesterday! Couldn't love it more after driving it home from San Diego! Miles ahead of my 84 carrera! Anyone wanna buy it? The 84 that is? Also have a 2001 BMW 330ci if anyone's interested. Prices and photos available upon request! The 993 kinda put me over the top on garage space and credit score, but damn am I glad I did it! Can't stop looking at it or driving it. Oh yeah- it's a 95, sounds like a dream, goes like stink, and I just love it!

Well, since you now know that the 84 Carrera is such a dog (compare to the 993) you'd probably want to give it away for a song, huh?

Congratulations. I have your Euro cab and have been thinking hard about a 993. Never driven one. Love to know more about the differences.

First and foremost, the shifting is unbelievable! No more " when the car feels like it , it'll go into gear" stuff, shifts like a car should. Power is also very noticeable, so much more. Of course, 45 more ponies helps alot in this area, but throttle response is a ton better as well. Handling seems to be same but different, if that makes sense, which I'm sure it doesn't, haven't driven it enough to really comment, except that the ride is firmer, not as much roll in cornering. Oh, and the A/C is night and day better! In Phoenix, this is very important, and it works like a real car as well. Also the power top is less a pita than the manual. Hope this answers some questions- I believe if you do drive one, you'll be totally hooked, and ready to mortgage whatever to get one!

Very nice.

I always assumed the ride with these cars would be cushier, more "removed" from the road than the go-kart feel of the earlier ones. I must drive one.

Those are BOTH nice cars! Love the 993, but I like the polished spokes on the 84 too-very nice indeed. Care to divulge the price?

I like the 993S in silver the most, but that red cab is just perfect for your weather.
