What color is this?
I have a 1/12 scale model that i am thinking of doing like this instead of Continental Orange. I have been to paintscratch but some of their displayed colors are off. The code may be right, but i would have to order a bunch of paint to be sure.
Thanks, Paul http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1117759188.jpg |
Can’t say for sure but it looks like one of the colors from the original TransAm Series from the mid ‘70s. Might want to try a Google search on the series for back ground info.

All I've ever heard it referred to is "Vaillant Green", as it was most likely a custom team-only (Kremer) color. When googling, you may want to include "Porsche Cup", "Kremer", and/or "Bob Wollek", in your searches.

pictures can be off at times- here is the similar green iroc rsrhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1117830617.jpg

Thanks everyone, i may get a small amount of the "light green" that paint scratch has listed for the 74-75 model year and see what i get. Worst case, i go ahead and do the Continental Orange. Thats what i have decals for anyway. Paul |
A place called Model Car World Automotive Finishes may have what you're looking for. I say may because I saw a lot of other diecast versions of that car when googling for the colour, with a slightly darker shade of green than the one you originally posted. Do a CTRL + F and search for Vaillant, it's there under the Porsche colours. Lucky b@stard, I'd love to build that kit. It comes up on ebay quite often, but unfortunately the cost of the kit + shipping to Australia would cause my better half to jam my nuts in a grinder. Post some pics of the kit when you're done.
Cheers, Nigel |
Thanks for the link Nigel, thats a great site. Strange that you would post it from down under, that place is 30 minutes from my house. :)
