1976 912E valule
Hey guys, a friend of mine 1976 912E was stolen. does anyone have a clue what the market value of one of these cars is?
all this time in Porsche-land, I think I've probably seen 5 912s with my own eyes. I really don't know much about the car, I just know it was silver over black and in very nice shape. not concours, but a well restored car. we are just tying to get a ball park range, that's all. thought i would see if anyone with some 912 knowledge would offer their opinion. Cheers, Kyle. |

Ballpark for value, as in what would you get in real money in a real sale?
I'd guess $8-9K. |

With 2099 of these cars made it depends on the condition of the car. Miles, mods, etc.
Go to collector car trader there are serval 912es from differnet states there... seen prices from $3,500 to $14,000

FWIW I saw a very nice 912E for sale in South Bend, IN for "$10k firm". I would have paid that...it was original and excellent.

I bought a black one a while ago for my wife, but she doesn't drive it as much as I thought. I'm considering letting it go for $9000 or so.
Real nice shape, fabulously shiny paint, never been damaged. Engine drips a bit of oil, and typical 915 tranny syncros. The reason my wife doesn't drive it much is because it doesn't shift as smooth as more modern cars. There's a data point for you. I'm tempted to keep the car, and someday put a 3.6 in it. Buit then again, I already have the 3.2 powered '73. |

I sold my 912E in May of 2003 through e-Bay for $7,500. White sunroof coupe with 193,000 miles, a weak but fully functioning transmission, better than average interior and average exterior, new tires on correct 14" Fuchs, good stereo, Momo steering wheel.
Hope that gives you some indication. I think values have gone up a bit since then. I was happy for the sales price - I owned the car for three years and the total cost of ownership - after deducting the sale price - was $400.
