I went for a long drive today in the 911, around 300 miles total. When I got home my new sport engine mounts were here.
I had them both done in 45 minutes, with tool cleanup. Went for drive. WOW!! What a difference. The car feels more "connected" now. I don't know if my old ones were original or not. They really were not deteriorated as far as I could tell. The shifting is better, too. I REALLY like the effect they had on that. If you haven't changed out both tranny and engine mounts for at least stock ones, do it. You won't regret it. Just my.02. ![]()

What exactly is the sport mount? Is it a solid mount?

The sport mount looks like a regular mount to me, must just be a different rubber compound in it. I just put four WEVO's in, but it is a bt harsh. I'm going to try to realign everything to get it to be better. If not, Hayden sad to try sport mounts on the trans. I picked some up today, just in case.
Ther are probably guys here on this board that can spell out the differences between the regular and sport mounts better.

Nope, not solid. Just a better rubber mount. IMO, I don't think a street driven really needs solid mounts. I think the sport mounts are also known as Cabriolet engine and trans mounts. I did the trans last year when I rebuilt the gearbox. Part # C-375-043-07 at Pelican $44.65 each.

Pat,
Where would you 'just pick some up"? Do you have a local shop that carries Porsche parts? Must be nice, if you do. I hate having to wait for parts.

Actually, I found some in a guy's Ebay store yesterday...50 bucks for two, brand new. I got them in the mail today.
I wish I could find everything so fast. There is a local Foreign parts shop that can get me stuff in a day or two, like the valve tool P213 which I asked for yesterday, and will have on Monday. Just about everything else, I order through Pelican to support our hosts.

Wow, nice grab on the mounts!
I don't have any shops close so I do ALL my shopping online.

I'm running the WEVO mounts on the the engine spar and CS mounts on the tranny end; it allows confident shifting in the curves and going over bumps. When I start the car you see the whole car moving side to side while the engine smooths out. It's avery nice addition, I also noticed the 915 neutral gear rattle disappeared.
