Zeke,
I've seen a few like that as well. The PO of my SC had a 930 tail on the car that had the turbo script on it. I got rid of it. Instead of sleepers, we call 'em posers. Heck, if I was gonna leave a turbo emblem on my car when it didn't really have one I might as well add a type R sticker, too.

Nick's car is pretty close to a sleeper, I think. When the Project X inviso-intercooler is ready...
As soon as people see a tail, they think it should be fast

I think that Curt E's 2.5 Targa is a good example of a sleeper. Looks like a nice early stock car, but goes like hell.... from personal experience, I can assure you that it goes like hell.

Maybe you should define sleeper since some people here obviously don't understand the meaning. So far the only sleepers I've seen are in your original post.
Here's one. 72T with a twinplug 2.8 S cam motor. Built originally by Grady about 25 years ago. The owner Greg just finished installing S MFI induction. When Grady originally did the motor he used Webers.

k9handlers and rs911ts cars definitely should have been in my original post. Those are perfect examples of what I was typing about.
After careful consideration of all of the features that can be seen in the pic, I declare that the above gaurds red 935 bodied slantnose turbo convertible with the whale tail and RUF wheels is not quite a sleeper Quote:
Craigs SC is an incredible buy at the asking price. I bet its going to scare the **** out of the next owner. I guess those two things kinda make it a sleeper. Very cool car. Last edited by Shuie; 06-05-2005 at 07:04 PM.. |

IMHO any performance upgrade on the exterior is not a sleeper. I guess you could consider stock Fuchs sleeper but to me when you put 16" Fuchs or wider 7x15" Fuchs your busted.

Fuchs are fine, IMHO. Nothing says sleeper like a deep 6 thats been widened to 7"+ and shoved under the back of a narrow car in effort the put as much tire to ground as possible in a car with a big engine.

The wheels are, however, a problem when creating a sleeper. I am thinking a set of Fuch’s in the rear that are modified 7R style can help put more rubber on the road than the usual 6&7’s without being too obvious. What do you think?

yeah I guess you are right Hal but I still think a non-flared car is pretty damn close to a sleeper.

But a SC could be pretty good sleeper too. If you stayed with a neutal color, like white, no tail at all, "badge delete", early Fuch anodized wheels, not too low, and 3.2 short stroke (or 3.6) I bet you could surprise a lot of rice'ers.

Anything (even an SC) with a 4" tail pipe aint no sleeper. How can you not think rubber duck isn't a sleeper? |
