No way guys, that slant nose cab is a total sleeper.
Any normal Joe looks at that car and thinks, "Wow, Miami Vice was a long time ago". Sorry Chuck. Im stoked about your powerplant, but slant-cabs are kinda crusty IMO, unless you live in Jersey in which case you'de be the king of the gold-chain society. To have 400Hp under the ass of that thing makes it a wolf in a blue pastel suit jacket. Rock on. Normal people don't see these cars the way we see them. Therefore, in my view: Early car, no flares = sleeper any targas (pre-964)= sleeper Steel wheels of any kind= hella sleeper

should have started this thread as a poll...with a few cars as the example. Once I start my car it loses any notion of being a sleeper...and I guess the 3.6 badge on the grill could do that as well.

How about a stock appearing (almost) 73 Targa with an 87 3.2 motronic on board??? It does have flares on the back and 16" fuchs but that's all you can see from the outside...

I think the term sleeper was coined more for an American muscle car.
Take a 1967 Chevy Nova for instance. The car Grandma would drive with a strait 6 could also come with a 327 V8 with 350HP and hubcaps. Verses say a Plymouth Road Runner with all it's decals and bright paint. A bit fast but no match for the unassuming Hypo Nova. Porsche's are a blast but there's nothing quite like a healthy V8 coming to life lighting up tires and pinning you in the seat. I have lot's of memory's in a 67 Nova, um sleeeper.

I did think the longhood with the driving lights was pretty gnarly - definitely a sleeper.

67 Nova?
Did someone mention a '67 Nova? I had one back in the 1980's. 327 ,350Hp 3 speed automatic and 3.08 gears... and no headers! nice and quiet, ran 13.6 102 mph N/ A and 11.7@ 117 mph with NOS.. Of course it wouldnt handle like a Porsche but it was cheap fast and fun..
