Thought I would get some of your opinions. I am restoring my 1968L 911 and have been contemplating replacing my chrome, because it is pitted in places and dented. I was just wondering if any of you have purchased the Deco Trim Kit by our host or any other supplier. Is it the same as the original, or can I expect plastic replacement as I experienced with my new horn grills. I know that re-chroming is always an option, but I have heard that this could drain the wallet.

I bought the S deco trim kit from our host for my 69 and it was fine. a lot of the deco is not really chrome but polished aluminium that can't be rechromed. The horn grills are still available in metal(chrome or black). call Stoddard's i think that is where I got mine. nothing like getting these old cars looking good again.

I bought them as a package from Pelican and was very happy with them. As jstobo said, they were polished aluminum.
