Strut brace model

Any of you guys have any experience with the Rennline strut brace? Pros? Cons? Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Nine9six,

I've got a Rennline strut brace and it seems to have tightened up my front end a little. Even if it doesn't really help for street applications (so they say...) I think it looks good in that trunk.

The Rennline is super light and does NOT mount to the strut itself, which is what you want. The top of the strut is supposed to move a bit with the movement of the A-arm and you do not want it to be rigid. You want the strut tower to be braced but not the strut itself.

how's the suspension coming along?

Scott,
Thanks for your response...What you describe, is why I am considering this brace as opposed to others that are on the market. I was looking for feedback as to fitment and function of this brace. It certainly appears to be functional, without binding the strut mount point. When you have one installed, do you need to have your car realigned?

I would say yes.

I don't have the triangulated brace - just the regular two point brace. My brace attaches to the strut tower via the rear camber plate adjustment bolts. These two bolts need to be pulled in order to install the brace so that leaves the camber plate possibly loose enough that it could conceivably move a little while the two rear adjustment bolts are out, considering that you'd only have one adjustment bolt holding the camber plate in place at that point.

I'd have it checked at least.

I've got Rennline monoballs and triangulated strut brace (although mine attaches a bit differently from the one you have pictured). Quality products...I like 'em!

Keith,
Thats one clean setup...I saw both configurations on Rennlines website.
Would you say one setup adds more rigidity than the other?

IMO, (and I'm certainly no expert), they would both work equally well. As has been mentioned before, the one you have pictured seems to attach to the camber plate bolts (possibly affecting your alignment if the plates move during installation) whereas the brace I have attaches to the monoballs so the alignment is not affected.
