Portland (OR) Historic Races
What's the bet day/time to go and see Porsches? I'm assuming "vintage european" is what I'm looking for in the race schedule.

David-
I have always gone on Sunday. There is plenty to hold your attention for a full day. Porsches are run in several groups. 356s run with the early cars, 911s and 916/6s with the later cars, and the occasional RSR, 906, or 910 with the fast late cars. Three years ago there was a 917/10 that ran demo laps, and another year there were 2 962s. There are also plenty of Porsches parked with club groups that are fun to see. I saw my first Carrera GT there last year. There are, of course, many other non-Porsche entries that are worth your attention. So, I'd plan a whole day. The races happen on Sunday, with Friday and Saturday dedicated to practice and qualifying. I have been disapointed in the past when cars I have really wanted to see run have broken prior to Sunday's event. I'd recommend a stroll through the pits to scout out cars you want to see run, and then make sure you see the practice session for those cars. It's a great event. See you there! -Scott (Edit) I looked at the schedule, and groups 1,3,5,6 and 7 could all have Porsche content.

I'll be there Saturday...it's the cars themselves I go for, rather than the races...stroll through the paddock & the marque parking. The track? Well it's great for hearing those sounds again.
