Mixing/matching Shocks/strut Inserts
My '72T currently has KYB inserts in the struts and KYB shocks on the back. I would like to dump them for a better quality set of inserts and shocks, and they are shot anyway. It has the orange/red Koni struts, so I know I need the Koni inserts to match. I see Pelican only lists one insert, so that narrows the choice. My question is on the back of the car. I would like to run the gas sport shocks from Koni or the sport shocks from Bilstein. Any preferences? I see the Bilsteins are about $80 apiece cheaper, so that makes them attractive. Can I run Koni inserts in the front and Bilstein sport shocks on the back? I'm wondering if the damping rates are compatible; if it would adversely affect handling; or anything like that.
