SSI's + Bursch = hot valance???

Just installed new SSI's and a Bursch muffler on a friends 911 SC. The Bursch is right up against the rear valance so the valance gets pretty hot. Has anyone had a problem with this or should we worry about it? I'm thinking of putting some kind of heat shield material on the valance. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Thye paint buubled off my fiberglass. I was thinking of getting som eof that thin silver heat shield like they put on starters. ON the early cars I think it works pretty well to drill holes behind the license plate and set it off 1/2" or so. I dont think this will work on the SC with its differnt bumper.
