Upholstery & carpet coverage estimates, please
OK, I want to order the material for upholstering my '69. I also found some loop carpet material that I want to order ASAP, before its gone. How many yards of upholstery material - sport seats, rear seats, door panels, rear side panels and package tray - including floors. Also how much for carpet? I don't want to put the kick panel pockets in.
Thank you, thanky you !!! |

Thanks Ryan, but I've already chosen upholstery material and carpet I want - and Keyston Bros. has it. I also have somebody to do the upholstery and make the carpet. I just need to know how many yards of each I need to buy.

Have the person doing the work look at your car and tell you what you need .

The problem with that is that the shop has arranged for the upholsterer and carpet guysl, and I haven't met them. Plus there is only a limited supply of the carpet and I want to get it ASAP.
Still looking for anyone who can tell me how many yards of upholstery material and carpet it will take. Looks like I'm not having too much luck with this. |
I used 3 yards of carpet for my 84 ....It all depends on the roll width....The carpet I used was 48" wide....I have a decent amount left over and I did the rear deck as well.. (targa to cab covnersion)......
I also recovered my door panels in leather and used approx 1 1/2 yards...its width varied as it was a natural hide...If I recall correctly (from seat recovering in the past) using 54" fabric for the seats, 2 yards per front seat & 2 for the total rear seats should cover you....Just an estimate but heres a recap 3 yds carpet 48" width 6 yds for seats (front & back) 54" width 2 yds for door & interior panels.... Great!
Thanks Chris. That's what I was looking for. |
Glad it was helpful. Just remember that if there is any pattern you may need to add as much as 20% to your total material needs...
Dont forget to post photos when it is done... Chris |
