76-77 911 Sienna Metallic color help
I have my car primed and ready for paint and muchbto my surprise the PPG paint that corresponds with Porsche color code 436 is not even close to the factory color Sienna Metallic. I have spoken with several very respected shops and they all tend to agree that over the years the formulas for color codes have been changed without referencing the original colors hence my situation. The color is received is more of a copper/salmon than Sienna/Burgundy as it should be. My next attempt is to get my hands on some 436 from Glasurit as I am told the flake is the proper size and they are typically very close. Next option after that is color matching to the inside of the door where I know the paint is original. If by some miracle anyone has gone though painting a Sienna Metallic 911 recently and found a good solution I would love to hear it!

I have an '83 SC in 436 and it is a metallic copper color...this is the original paint.
![]() ![]() It is also called sahara diamond metallic... Is yours an original or repaint as I've seen them repainted with some very reddish tints after the fact.
