Angry Please Help 911 Starting Problems

Hi Guys
Can someone help i have a 1980 SC 3.0 updated to a slantnose cabroilet turbo body . It has lately been having a hard time starting when it is hot , when the car is cold starts like a dream but as soon as iy heats up and i stop somewhere i come back out and it will not start just turns over after trying for 2 to 5 min finally starts . Then when it does start sounds like its running on 4 cylinders for 5 seconds pump the gas car is fine all the power is there .
Has this happened to anyone else please help it is driving me crazy and its embarrasing when it dosent start.

Heat = Electrical resistance

That being said, some more info would help. Is it turning over slower than when it's cold? etc..... I would go through and check all your connections at the battery, starter / solenoid, and make sure the grounding strap from the tranny is relatively clean and well secured.

ez,
classic symptoms your car is exhibiting are normally attributed to one of two possibilities: either the fuel accumulator or the fuel pump check valve..these parts of your continuous injection system maintain system fuel pressure after a shutdown on a warm car..when they fail, fuel pressure is lost and it makes for very difficult warm starting..starting when cold will be fine. there is probably a 99% chance that your problem involves one or both of these components. try a search on here to learn more. good luck.

It turns over fine no problems there , and keeps turning over no lose in any power ,

Actually origanly i thought it was a bad injector that leaked into the motor after car was turned off , but it made no sence , how can you check the injection system for preassure or fuel accumulator any one know ,
Thank you for your info so far atlleast i have a place to start

pelican sells both of these parts..i'd probably try the check valve first and then the accumulator. both are relatively inexpensive fixes.

to check fuel pressures at various points and at various temperatures of the system, you will need a cis fuel pressure tester. without this tool, you are really only guessing, but your symptoms are quite typical of cars with 'warm start' problems. a fuel pump check valve and an accumulator are necessary to hold residual fuel pressure after shut down when engine is hot. when either of these components fail, a cis car is very difficult to start, therefore they are the most likely culprits to consider. if you can locate a pelican member in ontario near you, they may be able to confirm this by the use of a pressure gauge. no one likes to just 'buy parts' without knowing, but these are the most likely ones to have failed until you can confirm with a pressure gauge.

It can get detailed when finishing fixing this problem. Issues that require attention can be time consuming. On my SC the wrench (very good Porsche shop) had to get back in there after her thought he was done. It took him quite some time.

Thank you Ryan and Bernard your help and words are quite appreciated , This is one problem the other one was the oil return tube seals started leaking , never thought a porsche would smoke more then my bbq lol unbelievable ordered tubes and putting them in on weekend so , thanks guys for listning

George-

My car exhibited the exact same symptoms a few weeks ago, and a quick check (and replacement) of both the check valve and the accumulator solved the problem completely.
