window switch swap problem
Here the story,
Today my driver window switch broke (button was going down but not up. So I decide to replace it with the my passenger switch from the driver side for the time being. After swapping them the driver window go up and dow again but after trying the window switch on the passenger sid, the window was going down only. What could be the problem? Wiring, BAd switch??? :( |
Fred,
Did you put the passanger's side switch back into the passanger door or the driver's side switch? I would jump the motor on both legs.......touch a hot wire to the up side and then the down side. That will tell you if it is the motor. You could also do a continuity test on the switches with a tester. Sounds like the switch. Best regards, Mike PS: We enjoyed your company yesterday at lunch! |
Fred, do what I would do... get a 99 cent toggle switch, and leave it dangling from the passenger door panel!!

PAt,
I really like this photo, no I don't think she would mind. Fred |
Mike,
It was really nice hanging out with you too. I swap the driver switch who is apparently broken to the passenger switch on the driver side. After this swap the passenger switch on the passenger side only work upward. |
I spoke with a porsche mechanics who told me that apparently the passenger switch on the driver side is the master and overwrite the passenger side. If the master switch is blocked on one position this would disable the other side switch to go the other way. The only solution is to get a new switch.
