'85 Carrera targa script color
 

I'm having my targa bar and badges re-done here locally and I thought the "targa" badges were originally painted the exact same flat-black as the targa bar itself on my '85.

Is that right or did they come painted silver or some other color?

It did change a few times. Some were silver some were painted black. My 86 came silver and I've seen 85's in black. Not sure if there is a Targa expert other than Dan Pechel in NJ who recovers Targa tops. He might be the best person to verify what years did what.

My 84 has silver ones and I kind of like them that way because they add contrast to the black targa bar.

The factory sales brochure shows the '85 as black on black.

I think they were annodized black and faded to silver over time. I had an '82 SC Targa that was sliver on the top and black on the back when I took it off.

Script is silver on my 86. IIRC my 83 was black.
