Pricing on '83 911 SC

What do you guys think market price is for a hypothetical:

'83 911 SC Coupe, all original, very good condition inside and out, and about 80,000 miles. Nothing special, just a clean original SC with a bit less than normal wear & tear and most of the maintenance history.

No more than $13.5 or $14K...market is not very hot lately for the SCs!

I'll take a guess being as this hit page 3 with no replies....

Hard to estimate without a picture, but 12-14k would be ballpark.

I'm with them, but I tend towards the $14K mark rather than the $12K mark. This assumes that by "very good" you mean VERY GOOD. I'd personally pay a little more than that if it was near me and had compete records and passed a PPI.

Thanks, that's helpful and confirms what I thought. I was looking at one listed in the classifieds here locally.

I also ran across this below on Autotrader. It'd have to be really nice to justify this asking price.

"No more than $13.5 or $14K"

Seems right if its really in 'very good' condition.

I paid $11350 for my 82 sc targa with 82k in good condition. I put in around $1k when I got it. It could use another $2k of work, but its not show stopper stuff...

Is there a difference in pricing for Targas vs. Coupes? It seems that there are more Targas on the market.

Targas are usually cheaper because the top is a bit more maintenance and expense, and they can cause additional problems (like leaks). The convertibles run a bit more, but that was only available in 1983. For the money they're asking in that ad, you can get a Carrera, even a G50 Carrera, or Boxster (newer, faster, convertible), 968 (faster, better handling, more cargo space), 928S4 (which means keeping up with 996s).

I paid $18K for my 82SC in very, very good shape with 43K miles on it. Excellent physical condition and tip top mechanical shape. I figured it was worth $16,500 or $17K, but I paid a premium because it was located less than 2 miles from my house. All things being equal, I'd rather have my SC with 43K miles than a $18K Boxter, 968, or 928.
