901 trans in a long wheelbase car

I want to use a '66 901 5 speed in a long wheelbase car.

Here's the whole story that I've also posted on the 912 forum but think I could get some good advice here. My wife's '66 912 is rusted beyond belief but she wants me to fix it up. I found and bought a '76 911 stripped tub for next to nothing and want to use it with the mechanicals from her car to create a long wheelbase 912, backdated to look like a '69 vintage car. I have long wheelbase rear suspension for my project, steel trailing arms from a long wheelbase car but don't know what axles to use. I think the gearbox output flanges were different because of different CV joints from '69. Can I use early CV joints on the gearbox side and later on the arm side? The axle splines would have to be the same and I don't know if they are. Or can I get output flanges from a later 901/911 gearbox and install them in mine? Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dave
