carrera sway bars VS. 911SC bars
Can anyone tell me what size anti-sway bars came stock on a 1985 Carrera, and what came stock on a 1980 911SC? I'm trying to figure out of the 1985 bars would be an upgrade or not.
Tanks. |

Years 74-85 used a 20mm front/18mm rear
Years 86-89 used a 22 mm front/21mm rear The ones you are looking at are 20mm front and 18mm rear.

Will the 1988 bars work ok since they are from a G50 car? I had the 1986 bars on my SC and it made a awesome difference. Good and affordable upgrade.

Yes the G50 bars will work. As I understand it they just have a bend to go around the larger G50 box.

Yep. I have the later G50 bars on my SC. Fit and work fine. The "hump" around the tranny is slightly larger in the back, otherwise, they are the same (just thicker). Remember to order new bushings for the larger bar, not for the stock size on your SC.

Uh oh, I just recieved the new stock bushings from pelican I ordered. Oh well, they weren't very expensive, and since I run a large machine shop I bet I know someone who could open them up for me

USPS is generally cheaper than UPS or FEDEX.

USPS is generally cheaper than UPS or FEDEX for small packages.
For bigger packages, FedEx ground is cheaper. Dunno about DHL - but I'll check that out next time I need to ship something. Be SURE you don't get dinged for an oversize or overlength surcharge!
