A/C Experts...Initial Oil Charge - How Much?

Calling All A/C Gurus:

I'm nearly complete with my Frankenditioner A/C project started over a year ago....The system consists of a fender mount 993 condenser, a new serpentine evaporator, new compressor, and new barrier hoses throughout. All other original 911SC A/C components have been removed.

The compressor has an initial oil charge of 150cc according to the spec sheet. Do I need to add additional PAG oil to the system? The system most closely resembles that on a 993 right now so should I target the oil/refrigerant quantities of that system?

Thanks

If you did business with Performance Aire you could probably get some good info out of Diana. If not and you don't have the center vent kit, get it. For my 45 min commute yesterday in the high 90's here in Dallas(maybe+100 in traffic) I was running the fan on medium speed. Full black interior, don't have window tint and I was pridefully comfortable and my legs actually sensed a chill.

If you're in DFW, I'd be willing to show/ demonstrate it for you.

System- Seiko Seiki, barrier hoses and receiver drier, center vent kit, black interior. Over the last 5 years it only lost .8 # of r-12.

My winter project was removing and replacing all AC parts and starting over. I kept the Sanden compressor but replaced all hoses, receiver drier and removed the rear condensor. I added a underbelly condensor and a rear quarter panel condensor. I flushed the system and removed the oil in the compressor. I then added aprox. 8 ounces of oil. I put about 3 ounces in the compressor, 2 or so in the receiver drier and then spread the balance thruout the hoses as I installed them.In your case because you don't have a huge condensor like I do ( underbelly ) I would add about 3 to 4 ounces.

Thanks. Since the new compressor comes with about 5, I should be good to go.
