Sport Seats: straight swap?

Are sport seats from early 80's straight swap into my '86 911? My '86 is electrical. Is it simple bolt on swap?
Do these earlier sport seats adjust in multiple planes? or just fore/aft and recline modes?
Seatbelts affected at all?

thanks
Mike

They bolt right in, although I am not sure what the seat belts may do. Mine are bolted to the side of the seat, I don't remember if the sports do that, but they will bolt right in

Just saw the seats for sale - GET 'EM, they are a steal at that price if they are as nice as they look in the pics!

They should bolt right in. I have sport seats in my 1980. The seat belts are not attached to the seats. The seats manually recline forward and back, but there is no adjustment for the bottom portion of the seat other than back and forth, no height adjustment. . Hope this helps, they look nice.

I put 930 '78 sport seats into my '84 targa 911....went right in with no issues. straight swap...both had seat belts separate from the actual seat.....base adjusts front & back only.....

thanks for info so far.....
What's involved in removing '86 electrical seat? Are the motor(s) attachted to the seat, or bolted onto the floor?

Any idea of weight savings from '86 electrical seats to manual early 80's factory sport seats?

thanks
Mike

Motors are attached/built into to the seat, 4 bolts (10 mm hex caps as I recall) for each seat and a power wire clip. Slide the seat all the way back and remove the front screws first. That will give you access to remove the rear screws.

Dont know the exact weight of each seat but from what I have read, to use techcical jargon, the power seats weigh a crap load....

Good luck
Chris
