Deco Trim - 1968L
I might have made a huge mistake . I ordered all new trim for my 1698 911L and ordered the "narrow" style. My understanding is the "L" is basically the "S" for America, so shouldn't I be using the wide trim. The description on the invoice states the narrow is for the "T". The trim looks the same as what is coming off the car, so does anybody know what the appropriate trim for this car is? Is moving to the wide "S" trim just a way to upgrade, or is this what was original to the car?
Thanks! |

Jamie :
I believe there was mid change in 1968 which some cars came with the narrow trim and the later ones with the wide one. I do not know if the 911L of that year came with the narrow , I guess no because it was more luxurious than the "T" of the same vintage . Although I have a 1968, 912 with narrow trim , I have seen some people upgraded to the Wider one to give a more modern look. I guess it depends on the Individual , in my case I keep the narrow because it has less parts to install and also because the first 911/912 from 1965 came with the narrow trim . JL Garcia 912, 1968
