O2 Sensor/Reference Sensor/Speed Sensor

I am tying to find the right part.

There is a bracket on the driver’s side (I own a 1984 911 ROW) where the speed and reference sensor attach. There is a third sensor which I thought was the O2 sensor.

The plug on all three of these sensors is rectangular. All three have disintegrated (age and heat). They are currently being held in place with silicone.

The O2 picture on this web site shows a round plug, so what is plugged into this third slot? If it is the O2 sensor, is there an adaptor that is rectangular?

Bottom line is I need a part number to replace this third sensor.

I tried searching for O2 on the BBS, but one has to use three characters or more on a search.

Thanks,

Thunder

On my 1985 US, the third is the Cylinder head temp sensor.

On my '88 the top (also white) plug is cylinder head temp. The other two are flywheel sensors for the DME.

It is the CHT though- just purchased one from our host- comes with two grommets- one that the other two sensor wires (crank position) go through, and one that plugs the hole in the engine sheet metal near the sensor hole in the cyl head.

I can vouch for the fact that it does indeed have a white plug on the end that fits in the metal bracket on the driver's side of the engine compartment.

part # H-606-915-00 from Pelican.

Thunder,

The O2 sensor is indeed a round plug. You will find it either in its proper clip on the driver's side shelf near the fuel filter, or lying on the sheet metal in the same area. But that has nothing to do with the 3 vertical connectors you are asking about.

Also, are the connectors actually disintigrating? Or are they simply loose in the metal bracket? If they are not installed properly into the bracket (and that installation can be tedious to get right) they will be loose. Maybe someone took the easy way out and simply siliconed them in place because they couldn't figure out the correct way to attach them to the bracket.
