3.6 conversion --wiring help

I am finally installing the 3.6 engine (993 Vario) back on the car, but I am facin some difficulties with the wiring.

Could any of the experts help me with this connections? I can not find where to connect them.

Thankshttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1119320486.jpg

On the left side, I have also 2 two-wire connector. I assume one is the oxygen senso, but not sure. What about the other one?

I think the one in the middle is either to the cd under the seat or it needs to be repined and to the cars harness, the one on the bottom is for the fan that used to sit there, No idea on the top

Mario. The large round connector looks like the air flow sensor wire.It almost looks as if your engine is without the sensor in the intake path!! The other connector in the !st pic looks like the ISV wire. The 14 pin connector goes to 14 pin on the donor car. Do a search on pinouts for your year car. You need to chase down all the wiring ..make your own diagram and triple check the routing of all the wires in the 14 pin connector on both the engine and chassis.Dan

there is one wire on the cars harness you must disconnect or damage the cd box, I believe its the red wire, Kevin

Mario, I think the top one is the air flow sensor and the connection is behind the neck of the air filter. You will have to reach around and feel for it because you can't see it. I think the 14 pinout from the engine connects to the chassis of the car. Good luck, looks like you are almost there.

This is the O2 connector.

I have mine right in the back so I can switch it in or out,

Also did you do the mod on the ISV so that it will be adjustable? That can also be useful.

hallo
The round in pic 1 is the airflowmeter , the black 2 pin with the red and brown wire plugs into a big black Item in the fusebox ,i dont know the word for , the part number is 96464550100 ( let me know how you call it )
The other 2 pin yellow brown goes to the fan ( you dont have ) no need to connect it .

Anyone has a pictures of the airflow meter?? It seems that my engine came without it.

I already takled the wiring on the 14 pin connector. I got timmins kit, so I had the instruction.

BILL,

Sorry, one more question: what ISV?? How do I do the conversion to make it adjustable?

Bill Verburg 06-21-2005 12:01 PM

ISV idle stabilization valve it regulates the idle speed

Here is a close up of the end

There are 3 x2.5mm allen bolts set in epoxy. Dremel the epoxy so that the allens are accessable, voila you have an adjustable ISV, the core will be able to rotate when the allens are eased.

mmasse 06-21-2005 12:09 PM

Bill,

Can i ask you what's the advantage of making it adjustable?

Bill Verburg 06-21-2005 12:11 PM

There can be idle issues, depends on the chip and rest of the install.

I have found it to be useful.

Mario.. if your engine is sans the airflow meter.. I think the person who sold you the engine owes you one. Dan

In the top picture the large round connector is for the MAF which it appears is missing (as has already been mentioned). The smaller 2 pin connector is for the intake air temp sensor that is in the rubber connecting hose between the throttle body and the MAF. Here is a pic of a non-vram 993 showing the two connections (finger pointing to the air temp sensor). They will be similar but not identical on your car since it is a V-Ram.

Looks like I may be wrong on the small connector, I don't see a similar air temp sensor on the Vram diagram in the manuals. Perhaps it controls one of the V-ram solenoids.
