Porsche Crest Need help guys!!!!!

I am in the stages of putting my doors back together after having them completely gutted for new paint. There is not even so much as one bolt or nut or window frame on them yet. They are just bolted on the car and lined up.

I am curious if anyone can tell me where I can see some pics or diagrams of the door to reassemble everything? Does anyone have any details on this?

Thanks in advance................................C

Is this for the hinges or for the internal stuff (w. crank, etc.) or for the panels...

And do you have access to the PET?

Third have you tried shooting a part description into the Pelican search engine and seeing if it will come up with a diagram for you? - might work if you are hot & bothered to get on with it over the weekend...

Good Luck.

Im hot and bothered! LOL Yep, My weekend consists of doing this project tomorrow and taking my father to the Champ car races at PIR on sunday. Weeeeeee!

I will try your suggestions. I dont have access to PET. I havent used it and am not very familiar with it either. Can you tell me more about it? I need diagrams for rubber trim pieces, screws, lock linkage etc.

Im stepping out for dinner and will be back in a bit and check for more posts here.

Thanks Randy......................................C

You can buy it from Pelican - it has all the Porsche parts diagrams. P AG was nice enough to sell it to us (most of us were using a bootleg dealer version anyway).

Sounds like you need it... maybe do some of the easy stuff now while waiting for the order to arrive...

hHeres my list. I was in your position one year ago. I hope I dont't leave out anything. I have an early car-69 so you may have different pieces.

Lock mechanism first.
Outside door handle(need to reach nuts from inside door)
Window regulator.
Install felt in door for window.(clips to front side of door.
Instal channel felt in window frame.
Window Glass(put in regulator. Do not tighten adjusting nut.
Window Frame.(after frame in roll up window, adjust then tighten nut on regulator to hold adjustment.)
Plastic cover on inside of door.(leave bottom unglued. Will need to reach under for arm rest bolts)
Install inside rubber window seal on top of door.
Seal vent window with putty.
Door Panel.
Arm rest and Pockets(Depends on year of car. My early car has two pockets a front map pocket and a pull out)
Glue bottom of plastic when done with armrest.
Install door trim on top door panel(runs length of door).
Add handles or knobs for window, lock etc. and you are done.

On outside put rubber seal in aluminum trim piece (there is a small rubber piece for vent window) and snap into place.

Hope this helps.
