Reference sensor troubleshooting?

On an 87 Carrera 3.2, is there a way to check both the speed and reference sensors with a meter before you swap them for a non start problem? I have ohms at the plug for the head temp sensor, and the refs are just below it, so I want to put a meter on them, but what are good readings? The coil reads good, the DME is NEW there is no park, the car is getting fuel.. It seems the sesncors are the only thing left. DME relay is operating, looks like it is the sensors, any help? The car ran one day, at idle, and the next it was a no start. Hmm..
Thanks.

I don't remember the spec but it is in the bentley paperback.

sounds like you'll be replacing it. the gap between the sensor and the flywheel puck is important, that much i do remember; it is something like .9mm

good luck...it's a PItA

Put the meter to both the connectors, neither reads any ohms, meter stays OL...... Both are to be replaced.
Thanks.
