The market has gone nuts in the early "S" world lately, so there is no telling, but if it goes beyond $50K I will be very surprised, unless there is an "eBay frenzy" at the last minute where two determined buyers get in a bidding war and lose all sense of propriety, ala Barrett-Jackson.

It is undoubtedly a very nice car, but there are aspects of it which mitigate against a "top-dollar" sale (which at this point is $55K for a '67S, as far as anyone knows) such as the non-original paint and the higher mileage on it, among other things. This is not going to attract the kind of collector interest that a lower mileage, original paint example might.

The fact that it has already met reserve at less than $38K tells you what the seller is willing to accept for it. Nonetheless, a former owner of the car and avid collector thinks anything less than $50K would be a bargain for it in this thread, so who's to know? Personally, I don't see it that way, and I even have a vested interest in the value of these cars, so would love to be proven wrong.

I will go out to the garage now and lovingly stroke the roof of my '67S and whisper to her, "you go, girl...."

TT

it has several hidden bidders on it, and from the history , they were beating up eachother, and then decided to wait it out, up to 37 k in no time , and there's 6 days left, the reserve thing , maybe the seller has somebody to push the auction along

the fleabay bidding at the end of the auction will probably push it over the edge

could also be european bidders, good S'es are very rare over here, and we got 20% discount with the exhange rate...

All things considered, I'd rather have a '72. Yes, this is an auction worth watching if you're an early "S" phreak.
