Shifting problem on my 911

While driving in second gear and only if I decide to engage my clutch and pop it out of gear it won't come out until I really slow down . Second gear is the only gear that it does this. Is this a sign of big Tranny problems or am I worried about a smaller problem .

Is this on an upshift, downshift, or both? What happens if you try to double de-clutch? Will it shift any easier? PS, I am a Venturan (for a little longer) too....

Just on the upshift only .
Double Clutch does not help .

Who's your wrench out here ?

Brad forgot to add that I still can shift normal from 2 nd to 3rd but if I engage the Clutch and hold it down and coast a bit like to a stop sign or light this is when it won't come out of 2nd until I slow down to a crawl .

Just saw your last post. Disregard above. Sounds like clutch is re-engaging. Is your clutch hydralic?

vincenza 06-21-2005 03:41 PM

1989 911 g50 tranny ( I think it is hydralic )

I use Jason Duarte, owner of RS Enterprises on Laurel Street. SUPER nice guy and very good. Give him a buzz and tell him Brad sent ya....805-643-1041.

I'd think if it were cable or bushing, all shifting would likely be affected...maybe not. I had a similar issue right before I had a slider issue and needed to have the tranny rebuilt...

Is Jason a young kid in his 30's ?
Yes I heard of him . Someone else told me he was good too!
I use Ventura Independent on Palma right next to BMW Motorcycles ( near CHP office . His name is Paul Brotea ( the Best ) Always has a couple of nice 911 's in his super super clean shop.

I'm no expert but maybe a leaky hydralic cylinder?
