Fat pig Carrera brakes
FYI - I had a great week-end two weeks ago at NASA's HPDE at Beaverun. In the past I have had trouble keeping my brake fluid from boiling using ATE Super Blue and Hawk HPS Plus pads. Well, at Beaverun I used Motul RBF600 fluid with a new set of Porterfield R-4's and had better results. The Porterfields bite very well with little fad when hot and the Motul fluid never boiled. My brake pedal remained firm all week-end with ambient temperatures in the mid to high 80's all week-end. Now Beaverun is not the toughest track on brakes but it's relatively short at 1.6 miles and has two straights.
My '87 has stock brakes with the backing shields removed and Noel's 993 diverters up front. So before you buy that $2,000 930 brake upgrade, try Motul over Super Blue.

I switched recently too. The Motul does seem better. I ordered a set of 993 front calipers today, which will go on soon with 309mm rotors. That and a rebuild of my stock rears, and I can't wait to track them in October!

Motul RBF600 has a slightly higher boiling point rating than ATE.

It is better.
My customers report less staining (ATE Blue will stain EVERYTHING blue) and better 'luck' regarding fluid boiling with smaller brakes at the track.

The blue is okay for street, use the motul on the track. I even notice a difference with the new brembos....
