Tire choices for 17x9.5 & 17x11?

I'm seeking opinions on 17" tire sizes and brand choices. Anyone running 275/40's on 11's? Any reason NOT to run 315/35's? Tires will be used prox 75% street & 25% DE. Tire brand/model for that combination?

I have 275/40s on 9s. They don't bulge. I would go with the wider ones.

I tried this first and it looks hideous. The rims were WAY to wide for that size.
I ended up running 315s.

I run 255/315. (You could just as easily do 275/335.)

I run street tires on both the street and the track. BFGoodrich g-force T/A KD's. It's the best non-R-compound tire available, in those sizes.

Hoosiers or Kumhos will work, of course, but are a waste on the street. You can't get Toyo RA-1's or Michelin Pilot Sport Cups in those sizes, unfortunately.

Yokohoma AVS Sports, 275/40 17s on 11" rims, if memory serves me. Slightly thinner spacers to keep the rubber inboard and at the same time not require too much camber.
