paintless dent removal?

Has anyone had "paintless dent removal" done? How well did it work? On hail damage? Fortunately it's not for my Porsche but my GMC 4x4.

Thanks,

An experienced technician will do magic on your dings and dents. However, if there is a severe crease, removed paint or certain other factors then they'll tell you to go to an autobody shop.
I've seen severely hail damaged cars brought back to pristine condition.
If possible look at the work that the tech has done. Also, ask if their tools are designed not to deeply scratch the underside of the panel.

That pretty well sums it up. The only thing that I would add is - if you have massive numbers of dents on a flat upper panel like a hood for example, it may be cheaper and more satisfying to all to replace & repaint. GM hoods are pretty available used, etc...

I've had PDR done on my Carerra and on an Acura. Good technicians are wizards. It's amazing what they can do. I was completely satisfied with the work on my car.

Thanks to all for the replies. I've never seen or had it done. I may very well go ahead with it.

Thanks again,

Jerry: If you're at all concerned, ask the guy for references. I couldn't be happer with the way mine turned out.

A tree branch fell on the rear quater panel of my Volvo s60 and left a 6" crease right on the curved part...A place called Dentbusters got it out and you can't even tell it was ever there.

I've had awesome experiences, too. Go to a high end luxury car dealer and ask for their referral. I suspect the difference between a GREAT PDR guy and a lousy one can be night and day. Asking for references is a great idea.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Doug
