Details? Hmm...not sure yet. The laundry list is long but my budget is not. You know you're in trouble though when the car is on the lift and both Tyson and Dave are pointing at things...and Tyson keeps getting this grin on his face. First on the docket is cooling holes getting drilled for brakes and oil. Then maybe some other holes drilled in other places. The stuff getting ripped out. Then maybe other stuff getting bolted in.
The cutting the roof off and replacing with a non-sunroof one will have to wait for another day... |

Todd, I've got a sizeable pile of parts laying next to my toolbox that came from your car.
I also got the cat bypass on, and the muffler outlet done. Sounds great! Revs up quicker as well. Adding lightness is a beautiful thing.

I'd like to see a comprehensive list of the "Kwick and durty" version of adding lightness on a 911. I've run across a few threads but, they never have any one like TRE &tyson adding thier expertise....Where are these holes drilled? Heck worst case write a book and sell the info if you want.

I am glad those guys are on the west coast...my car would be there everyday.
I took my car into a bodyshop here in VA after hitting a deer - mainly just the hood needed to be replaced and barely escaped with my sunroof and rain gutters in place... Front and rear bumper mods, RUF aero mirrors, club sport valence...and the list goes on and on... I think these guys prey on the "while your in there syndrome"...no mercy. -Jeff

oh... quit your b*tchin'
![]() Be thankful you have a place to take your car that you trust and do cool things. I cannot even find a place within 80 miles that will align a 911.

Herr Schmidt really loves to put a 911 on a diet!

Here's a quick list of what got gutted.
fog lights rear sound deadening engine compartment heater blower cruise control front condensor blower U.S rear bumper gaurds---replaced with Euro Catalytic converter replaced with bypass pipe miscellaneous brackets that are no longer needed The car now sits 3/4" higher in back now. I'm going to have to lower the rear.

Todd...it can only get better! I remove something at least once a week and throw it in the dumpster, or save it for a future sell on ebay. Tyson if you are ever back over this way you are invited to tweek on my car and in return we will go do some laps of the ring.

My Euro SC doesn't have any of that garbage, either. Came from the factory without many options. I guess I have the makings of a lightweight without working too hard at it. Cool.

Just curious, how much does the cruise control weigh? I can't imagine ever using that, and the 911 is my only car.
How much does the cat weigh?

O.K., the total so far is 66#'s. 99% of which came out of the back of the car.
Next up........ lightweight battery to replace the monster 60#er in there now. It will get swapped for a 15#er. So the final total should be 111#.
