Question about 930 shifter rod

Is the shifter rod the same on a 915 and a 930? I know the 930 shifter lever sits lower than the 915. Is the bracket for the rod bushing the same also? I read on some 930 trans swaps people say you need to change shifter but don't say anything about the rod. Thanks, Mark

Mark,

The main shift tube in the tunnel is the same for a 915 and 930 equipped chassis.

Regards

Hayden

What about the bracket for the bushing. Does it set the tube lower since the shift lever is longer? I need to figure this out since I put the 930 trans in my car. Thanks, Mark

Mark,

PET shows an alternate part # for the "L"shaped bracket. Whether or not it is dimensionally different to the 915 part # I am not sure....

edit:
Plus that same 930 part # is used for '83 and later SC, so my assumption would be that the bracket holds the shift tube the same distance from the top of the tunnel in all cars - but that is an assumption.

Regards

Hayden
