guess what this is?
Colorado folks can not reply. We were recently treated to some great old pictures from PCA/Alpine Region first year of existence, 1975. One vehicle featured heavily in the slide show. Here is a teaser. What is the car? I might post more later....

Karman Ghia ???

The third fella over from the left happens to post regularly here. He is looking at the rear of the said "car" as well. No it ain't a Karman Khia, but the lines are somewhat similar.

Oops. didn't see that last post. I did see some of these at the sears point about a month ago.

Yeah, check out the threads of the owner of the car. He is a great guy too. The cars this fella has had and still owns would boggle your mind This side profile should make it easy for any respectable Porschephile to id the car. Alfa is close.

Bingo! And that is our beloved Grady Clay in the second picture.
1975 in La Junta. That only took a half hour. The Fuchs were a special order item back then.... |

Ok there are a couple more shots of the car. I have included two more. And ONE real scary picture. Remember guys this was back in 1975. These pics are digital scans of slides or prints. Pretty kewl though.

Larwik gets the prize.
Bill, thanks for posting all this. I would have been at La Junta but had a Dr. appointment that Friday afternoon to tend a surgical wound. I wouldn’t have had much energy to finish the weekend. Well, In the first pic that is Greg Volan on the RF tire. My floor jack in the foreground. I suppose I may have taken the picture. In the second pic I am explaining the details to Chuck Stoddard. How did we ever wear the same attire that day? Note the Bells and pocket protectors. That is Paul Bingham to the left. Get three engineers together around a 4-cam and you will be there for hours. I maintained that physique (6’3”, 145#) until I was almost 50 – if I can remember that long ago. Here is the Rennenhaus poster with this 1762# Abarth Carrera GTL and my 904 Carrera GTS (904-017). http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1119721659.jpg Best, Grady |
only 1/2 hour after he took care to hide a lot of relevant details - slots on the rear, shape, etc. Next time this group will have to have a harder challenge...

Here are some shots of Bob Garretson's similar car taken at a Porsche Club GB concours about 15 years ago:
