just got widebody!! help!!
Hey guys! Just got my first widebody kit for my 911 targa. Just have a few questions. When I purchased the rear flares, the whole fender was cut out, but when i look under it was a fiberglass installed to the steel fender. Should I cut out the fiberglass flare and reinstsll it or cut the whole fender out and reweld it? It would seem better if I redid the flare instead, but there are these screws that are holding the fiberglass flare. How do I cut it out? I bought it like this because it came with front 930 fenders, iroc bumpers, iroc wing, and the rear fenders for a really good price. Any ideas?. Do I have to strip the original stuff that holds the fiberglass and steel? If so, how? Thanks alot to anyone who can help!!

Without seeing what you've got, I'm guessing the bext way to go would be to separate the steel and fiberglass bits, then install the 'glass portion on your car.

Thanks! By any chance do you know how to seperate it? Do I just cut it out? How do I take off the the original stuff that holds the flare to the steel? There are also these little screws every 2" around the inner flare. Do I cut it out with the flare or without? Sorry for askin too much. Just want to do a good job.

It will depend on what they used to bond it. If you could clean up an area so we could see what the adhesive looked like, that would be helpful. Heat will usually weaken these types of glues.
