how much negative camber on the fronts? beautiful car and looks like a remarkably fun and senic road.
i have allways liked the look of the ducktail but didn't want to backdate to long hood. getting rid of those bellows and adding the tail looks fantastic though. where did you you get the bumpers if you don't mind. also, do you have any shots of the rear?

Thanks Felix, running just 1.5 on the front. Road is the annual PCA Bogus Basin Hill climb. Pictures are during the actual run. Most of them close to red line in second.
Gazillion pictures here on the BBS of this car while it was being built this winter. Just do a search under my user name. Bumpers are a GT Racing IROC front and a Shaw YB rear. Flares are hand dollied to take 10+ in back and 8.5+ in front. These are just 8/9s with SO3 street tires. Car was second only to a '04 GT2 for us street tire guys. ![]() ![]() |

Rdane--the car looks fantastic. Have you considered painting the wheels to match the body color? I think that would look fantastic.

thanks much. lots of help in sorting out my sc aesthetically. does the -1.5 work well for you. lots of track or autox? would have thought that the same effect could have been achieved with a little trailing throttle or is the top end streight noticably different?

I'm running 1.5 front and 2 rear as a aggressive street setup. Very little track, a few competitive hill climbs and no autox. Those guys are running 2.5 front to 3 degrees in back if they can get it. I ran 1 up front and 1.5 in the back for a few years and really can't tell much difference for what I use the car for. Front tires last twice as long as the rears with that setup.
The car was originally a '79 SC. Thanks Jon. Going to RSR look with these as spares for track tires because they are so much easier to clean. Last edited by rdane; 06-24-2005 at 07:32 PM.. |

i'm running 1 in the front and scrubbing the well at full lock... lowered to euro spec. not too bad as i am seldom in parking lots with that car but did you have to space your wheels to get that camber? what thickness spacer did you use?

No spacers and running 24/24 ride height with a bit of forward rake. The street tires shown are a .50" lower in front. 23.5/24 for a street ride height.
JMZ I had a cool blue car to copy, thanks ![]() Last edited by rdane; 06-24-2005 at 08:27 PM.. |

Have you got a little problem with the front trunk lid? It looks like it doesn't quite fit up with the fenders. Just curious, since you've obviously paid attention to other details.

Good eye, fits fine now. First weekend out and new seals under a fiber glass hood. I getting a little flex on the right side.
This was one of the other cars running that weekend. It was on race rubber and a 2.8 twin plug. I love the color. ![]() Last edited by rdane; 06-24-2005 at 08:51 PM.. |

You're welcome. So what is legal in ASP? Slicks legal? Are those 7s or 8s and are they legal?
