Any options on Carrera G-50 clutchs?

They are almost double what the 915 clutch is - almost double what a 964 clutch is. I'm concidering replacing while the engine is out - but for that price I could replace the flywheel too.

Anybody replaced with anything else?

Jeremy, use the spring loaded center clutch....once again...shoot me an e-mail

the rubber replacement is a joke at the prices they sell for. The 76-77 (PN 930-116-014 04) spring center clutch disc if the only alternative I know of.

Yes. There is one solution I would recommend. First of all does your clutch need refurbishment. If yes, buy the best you can afford.

I would go with Sachs clutch with spring center. It works well with mine.

Clutch Express (800-258-8247) has good price. You may speak with Cathy as she knows which plate to include, and Miller, the owner is also helpful.

Good Luck.

Regards,

I've read a number of times to get a Sachs clutch with spring center. I've also read that the Sachs replacement clutches with rubber center are good too since they are made better than the original rubber centers...non-exploding. Even my original rubber center went 100k miles without a prob until the disk wore out.
I put in a new Sachs rubber center and so far it's great.

So, are the replacement Sachs rubber centers still not believed to be a good choice by most Pelicans?

Steve,
I think you are right, I've read someplace that the g-50 rubber center clutch is alot more robust than the rubber centered disk for the 915. 87,000 miles on mine and no problem so far.

Have you guys ever compared the weight of the rubber centered clutch to the weight of the spring loaded clutch?

In favor of the spring center clutch:

Price....
Weight...
No more rubber to worry about....

I don't see any drawbacks to using the 930 clutch.

I did the same thing, and love it. I see no advantage to the spring centered 930 clutch. 167k and counting...
