Gotta love that wood! John, I have a '65 911 (#301368) with that wood on the dash. It has the slant 911 emblem on the glovebox though. My car has that wheel too, only with a leather rim. And a Becker Europa radio.

Dave,

There's a reason why that nice 911 doesn't have the emblem. . . it was #37 off the line! Car is owned by Alois and Estonia Ruf and was completely restored at their facility in Pfaffenhausen. Note also the absence of a horn butterfly and the four studs holding the dash on (barely visible just below the window line due to the bright sun).

Do you have any photos of 301368 you can post? I have 304065, the dash and wheel need restoration.

John, I'll try and take some pics tonight and post them. My wheel doesn't have the horn butterflies either. The wood could use refinishing. The whole car needs restored but it's original down to the Solexes. Unfortunately has some typical PA rust issues.

That is a very cool car. It's pretty funny though, with everyone looking for sources of houndstooth material, he has enough to make a cute little pillow out of it for the back seats.

Oh wow. That's Alois Ruf's personal 901. I saw in the showroom at their shop. I think it has under 700 km. on the clock. I can't believe they let it out of the shop. His wife told me he drives it to work once in a while. They must live pretty close to the shop!
