Question Good places to buy Porsche wheels?

Well I did a search and after looking through 11 pages I gave up...

So here's what I'm wondering...where are some good places to buy either new or used Porsche or replica wheels?

pelicanparts.com

rennlist.com

pca.org

wheelenhancement.com

tirerack.com

ebaymotors.com

any others? It's getting harder and harder to find good places to get some "upgraded wheels" it seems...

List 'em if you got 'em

Most places that sell these wheels commercially get big money. What do you need specifically and maybe I can help. You are better off looking on the BBS, pca site and rennlist for used wheels.

That's not necessarily true Phil.

The are levels of retail that one can circumvent to get discounts on new wheels (modern forged centers or whole wheels), but most will provide marginal savings over retail. Manufacturers rarely, if ever, sell to walk in customers at anything less than retail, otherwise there would be no incentive for their dealers or reps to market their product. The reps and dealers end up making a marginal profit that justs barely covers their cost. By cost I mean time, inventory, support, marketing, etc,... Add it up and you will find that it's very difficult for "commercial" sellers to make the so called "big money." Volume, companion product and service (shop fee) are what makes it possible for dealers and reps to carry some of the wheels.

Modern forged wheels are not cheap! Used Fuchs are not cheap...we all know that. If I hadn't picked up my Fuchs before folks started to hord them and the supply deminished....I wouldn't be able to afford them....and modern forged wheels? Hell...I still can't afford them, and I sell them! ... so I have steel wheels for my track car.

Go to local swap meets (east coast Hershey, Princeton or Pennington meets). I saw a fellow NNJR member trying to sell a set of replica Fuchs 7 and 8X16 with tires for $800 (4 wheels /tires). He may still have them. His name is Lou Nicotra and resides in NJ.

I guess I was thinking Fuchs and not aftermarket wheels. My experience is if you go to someone like wheel enhancement or ernies you will pay double to triple what you would pay for a used wheel from a private party. The good deals are around you have to do some prowling to find them. I am not slamming the retailers, they have to make a buck too but used parts from someone who doesn't know what they have is the best deal.

Yes, Phil, I agree. Used Fuchs or other forged wheels (used) are best bought from a private seller.

Does ernies actually ever sell wheels at those prices? I always wondered when I look at their ads........ There is some pretty good mark up in some aftermarket forged wheels........

I'm looking for wheels for my 964, but, I hope to get a list going of places and then post it...

There was a place "like" wheelenhancement.com awhile ago (that I forgot to bookmark) that had alot of Porsche wheels at fair prices and I thought I got the link from here but couldn't find it in a search...

Schuey, I bought my fuch's from 70fasty who posts in the Used Parts section of this board. Good pricing, EXCELLENT customer service, and quality work. Here is his direct web site (Of which I have pics up of my car with the new wheels).

You should try www.capitalwheels.com.

They sell take-offs. I bought a wheel for my M3 from them and it was about as perfect as then come. Even included a center cap. They have a HUGE selection of factory porsche wheels but some of the more rare stuff is often out of stock.
