What size headers for 2.7 MFI?

Folks,

Can someone recommend a pipe diameter for a 2.7 MFI set of headers?

Thanks
T

I may be wrong, but isn't the 2.7 MFI engine a little finicky with anything other than OEM exhaust? I read somewhere everything is very optimized from the factory - from heat exchangers to muffler - for this engine.

Possibly you could cut the heating system off a pair of stock heat exchangers - with the heating system removed, basically the heat exchangers is a header.

dd74,

Thanks for reminding me. Now I rememer the PO had some issues with the car when the stock SSIs were removed.

My OEM heat exchangers are shot, looking for something to replace them and just thought, hold on it's a race car now, so no need for heat.

OK, back to the drawing board.

Sure! Lots of people have recommended sizes.

Headers would give you a weight reduction in the rear, a minor one. Power gains on a stock 2.7 MFI engine (talking RS here) would be questionable, since both the factory exchangers and SSI's are essentially headers.
