help, 3.6 gods please step forward part 2

heres the update of what i feel is going on,

the first problem was the surge, i disconnected the brake boost line and it idled kinda right, i realized that it also quit smoking,(i forgot to mention in the first thread that it was smoking heavily)

I also to starting fluid and sprayed everything heavily looking for any top or response from the motor nothing

I decided that the smoking was from to much oil, i drained all the oil and refilled till about a quart low, put the brake hose/booster line back on, it idles ok but its stating to smoke bady again, im thinking that this may be causing the surging

solutions, i have no idea, the motor is fresh and it smoked before the refresh, i tend to believe somthing is wrong somewhere else

so i would like to first make sure i have a few lines hooked up right or the same as you guys with 3.6 conversions

top oil tank line to a inlet where the isv is

the botton vent vents to the back of the motor

is there supposed to be a check valve so oil doesnt return to the motor via a vent hose,

any ideas would be greatly appreciated, im trying all ideas so please let me know, Kevin

Are you sure that your brake booster/master cylinder isn't leaking and pulling brake fluid in through the vacuum line?

ill check but im pretty sure it smells like oil and a gas and a gas mixture, Kevin

what is in the sc system that could cause this smoking, Kevin

It would probably help if you provided some pics of how you have things plumbed rather than try and figure this out blind.
You need to check that the head temp sensor is good, that the idle switch is closing, that the ISV is functioning properly, that the tank venting valve is ok, DME relay is ok, check the fuel injectors and verify they aren't stuck open and have voltage and the correct resistance, check the fuel pressures static and running, check that all your grounds are good, verify that all the plugs are firing and are hooked up in the correct firing order. This obviously assumes you have all the wiring for the conversion harness hooked up correctly.
Also as I posted in your other post, take a good look at the rubber boots that connect the mainfold to the injector stacks.

Do you have the hoses connected to the oil tank properly, one goes to the injection boot and the other is the crankcase vent. By disconnecting the booster hose you make a huge vacuum leak and obviously don't pull fumes from the oil tank. Do you have these hooked up with the correct restrictor in line and hooked to the correct spot on the oil tank. Does the oil smell like gas? Perhaps this indicates a stuck open injector. What do the plugs look like?

ok i can get pictures, i have been pretty thorough, the plugs are firing, the harness is correct,

i have traced it down to its probably not the motor, i did have it running and checked everything for vacuum leaks, and sprayed everything down with starter fluid looking for a change in the idle,

i think the oil/smoking is causing the surge somehow

you have stated in the quote above about a restrictor, i feel some how the oil is being pulled from the oil tank,

the top oil tank vent goes to the rubber part on the manifold just behind the isv, the bottom vent goes to the back of the engine top center

whats the restrictor is it like a check valve, any idea what it looks like, Thanks for everything Kevin

ps even though i am not a mechanic i do have a fair back ground with race cars etc,
