3.2 Inlet, TPS q's for converting to EFi
 

Hi Guys, I just am in the process of collecting things for my Efi project. Could anyone have a look in the pictures and just tell me a few things:
There is a sensor with the manifold- anyone know what this is?

I seem to be given 2 FPR i think - i think the one with the fuel pipes is the one i need but not sure what the other one is or why it only has two inlet/outlets

I have a ford TPS that I want to connect to the throttle body however im not sure how it works or how you connect it up to the shaft or how it reads a signal- does it move or it just senses the throttle shaft turning .... please help!

oh also the device on the side of the throttle body - is that idle stablizer? if so does it just control the idle automatically when cold as i cant see the power supply to it ????

Im pretty sure that the first piece with the red arrow goes on the top back side of the motor above the flywheel. The magnetic pickup is aimed directly at the flywheel teeth. I think its called a 'reference sensor', but Im ignorant as to its fucntion. Its easier to see in a pic, I'll try to get a shot of mine since my motor is on a stand.

First sensor mounts to the rear of the engine and could either be crank position sensor or TDC sensor. Both pick up magnetic signals on the flywheel.

The second is a throttle postion sensor.

Your first pic is indeed the fuel pressure regulator (the top one with the 3 outlets and hose attached) located at the end of the left fuel rail and also the corresponding fuel pressure damper (the bottom one) which is situated at the end of the right fuel rail. You can see both oriented (just barely) in the image below:

Make sure the TPS is properly adjusted when the motor is running, I failed to do so initially and the motor hit an absolute wall around 6,000 rpm because the maps weren't shifting from part to full throttle. Steve Wong solved that problem in 5 minutes.:)

Yea i have a 3.6T which is maxed more or less out with the CIS (460HP) and so wanted to go the next step to Efi. I am really going to be converting it as cheaply as poss without comprimise to aim for around 550- no engine mods are going to be done expect to port the inlet from 38mm to 41mm to match the 3.2 manifold.

I have just bought these 3.2 leftovers from a breakers and just putting the pieces together now, im looking at Megasquirt , custom intercooler and 55lb injectors to go with it. So far i think i dont need to much else.... i think!

Can anyone tell me what the device is on the side of the throttle housing/what its function? (right next to my TPS in the pic)

That is a sensor that bolts to the motor at 12 o'clock on the flywheel. It is there for diagnostic purposes and is not connected to anything. I don't even recall seeing any factory test procedures that use it. It might be useful for aftermarket EFI though.

Sharp eyes Mr. Bennet! I have another pic where you can kind of see it mounted right next to the oil pressure switch and harness connector.

Good. I was a little worried because I never did figure out what it was for. I had to unhook it to get my yoke to bolt up snug. I guess I dont need to reconnect it.
