sc oil tank check valve???????

On the sc oil tank, i know when you over fill them the motor smokes, is there some kind of valve or something that should go in the vent lines,

anyone have any photos of the vent hoses, Kevin

Kevin,

For your 3.6 conversion you need to restrict the opening of the oil tank line to the intake boot. This was done by the factory by using a cone shaped brass insert that reduces the diameter to ~1/2". There are lots of ways to do this, another benefit is the car won't die when running and the oli cap is removed to check the oil.

Kevin,

Here is a pic of the factory restrictor used on 3.2L. As I said anything you can dream up to restrict the size down will work.

Kevin,

Part # 930 107 289 00. Not sure about the brillo pad thing, but some of the SC's used a part called a flame arrestor that looked like a round cheese grater.

Kevin,

If you think it is your problem, disconnect the line from the oil tank and plug the line and the open port on the tank and see if this fixes your problem. Personally I would highly doubt that this is the root of the problem. But then again I may be wrong.
