Smoke from SSI heater hose
So to troubleshoot my latest problem I disconnected the heater fan and heater hose and removed them both from the engine compartment. Well, finally got it started and it ran great so I concluded I had fixed the problem. No I ran it a bit in 90 degree weather and it ran fast and quick but when I returned home as it was cooling down blue/grey smoke came out from under the engine. I figured she ain't been ran awhile and it was oil dripping on the HEs. So I opened the lid to let her cool off and I noticed that the left HE heater hose had some coming out of it. Now does this mean I have oil/exhaust valve/engine problems?
Thanks, Dean |

The exhaust gasses are separate from the heat passages! You likely have oil drip on your heater ducts and it soaks through, leading to smoke coming out of your heater duct. There is no way you can leak oil into the actual heat exchanger (from the exhaust side or the outside world).
