99 Sport seats

Just got home today after making a trip up to seattle to pick up a pair of extremely nice 996 sport seats. My 3.2 Carrera seats were haggard.

After quickly removing my stock 3.2 seats and dropping in the new 996 seats which quite nicely fit on the rails, I discovered the front attachment eyebolt on the new seats is canted forward and therefore does not fit.

I know I can bang it back straight, but even so...

I can't be the first guy to try this.

Hints, tricks techinques, procedures, are all appreciated.

thanks

chgrec / ncseahawk,

Did you notice by going to the newer power seats (boxster, 996) do you sit any taller in the car. I would like to go to the newer seats but my head room is very limited even with the stock sport seats I have in my SC.

Thanks

ncseahawk, your welcome.....I wouldnt have even thought of doing the upgrade if it wasnt for this board. I feel like any bit I can pass on to others is merely payback for all I have learned from here....good luck with it....and be sure to post some photos.....

Glen, I didnt do any measurements but it doesnt feel any higher than my original seats. My seats aren't full power only the seat back is power but as I understand it, the power base is the same seat height....

Chris
