Back date on the SC to long hood.

OK....my TRE pieces have been painted...Ingo picked me up at the shop and the fenders, hood, bumper splitter and such are getting the install today....wooo hoooooo....

Parts needed sealing as they were newly pulled from the mold and bubbled the first coat....had to wait a day, sand and re shoot.

Pics this afternoon or tomorrow....

Mike,

Can't wait to see the pics. I've been toying with the idea for my SC.

This thread is useless without pornography.

Joe Bob 07-07-2005 02:37 PM

Yeah yeah....sorry. The gas tank access is turning out to be a beeyotch....have to fabricate some parts to get the flapper to work. When I get home I have at least the naked pics ready to post.....

That is going to be sweet. You still have one of the best cabs I've seen and now a long hood to boot. Nice!!

sammyg2 07-07-2005 03:49 PM

Man, they sure pack a lot of crap behind those fenders, don't they?
Where were those pictures taken?

Joe Bob 07-07-2005 05:30 PM

Yeah...just the road crap from 22 years on the hiway weighed 10-15 lbs.....there is a TON of junk under the fenders that ya don't realize is there...

Pics were taken at my buddy's body shop. The swap was over my head in regards to fitting and fabricating....worth the $$ to have it down right.

Joe Bob 07-07-2005 05:37 PM

Good/Bad news....damn paint on the new parts don't match the old paint....gonna shoot the rest of it the same color tomorrow....

Joe Bob 07-09-2005 02:33 PM

OK....progress pics....as you can see. Color match is a problem....sooo a total repaint is gonna be done.

The first pic above....basically cut the whole bucket out and did a transfer.....what a FPITA.....

sammyg2 07-09-2005 03:49 PM

Is it a totally different color or is the old paint just faded?

Joe Bob 07-09-2005 03:56 PM

I think it's a euro thang.....transition year for colors from alpine white to gran prix white.....who knows....I mixed the paint to the color code in the door.

You can see the results.....either way....it gets new paint...which it needed....but NOT my pocket book.

sammyg2 07-09-2005 05:17 PM

I gots some white primer spray paint in the garage, I would be willin to touch it up fer a six pack ;)

Shaun @ Tru6 07-09-2005 07:58 PM
