Do you guys get this? Irritating!!

Heard from a friend few days back that some guy went upto my Porsche friends to create silly talk and somehow my name came up and he said "whats Sam doing with that old Porsche, he shld sell it or something". Now when my friend told me this the other day, it really pissed me off. Do any of you guys get this and how do you'll respond? By the way, the guy who passed the comment drives a Lambo Murcielago. One of the main reasons into going into the EFI conversion is to ask him for a race. I'm bloody pissed! I know you guys will be able to answer me best as we all share the same passion for our cars. I have been playing with cars for awhile now and most know me in Singapore(small market), so this comment did upset me.

Sounds like a bad case of testosterone poisening all around. If you live your life caring about what others think or say, you will certainly drive yourself crazy. My response would be, "Yes, idiotic overly opinioned imbiciles would never see the value of driving a car like this. Consider the source." If that doesn't appeal to you, then immediately challange him to a dual to defend your car's honor and you self respect. Better make it at 20 paces.

don't sweat it. he's got the money for a Lambo - he's entitled to an opinion. The comment demonstrates that he's a part of the "newer is better" crowd.

I'm surrounded by cats like that all day long - so called "enthusiasts" that only know if it's a "New" mercedes AMG, M series, or in a Hip Hop video. Don't get it since they don't know what to look for. Pretty much 1 dimensional. I get that question a lot - and it's always the same response I give:

"Why? Oh never mind, you'll never get it..."

Had a nieghbor make a remark about my project 356C yesterday. "Those things aren't worth very much are they?" Then proceeded to tell me that restoring old Ford Mustangs is the way to go.

I can afford a Lambo but the question is, isit worth buying one in Singapore. It cost US$600,000 here and yes hes entitled to his opinion BUT not to me. I'm generally a friendly guy and I dont see why I should take something uncalled for.

Well there will be a Ruf vs Lambo showdown and will keep you'll posted.

Sameer,

These types of guys have little *****s, there fore they try to make up for this by purchasing big ticket items like a Lambo or F car to compensate.

Keep your car! Dont buy a Lambo! Your car has something a Lambo never will.................SOUL!

Gee Chris, at moments like this I wish my ***** was that small. A raging bull in my garage would look quite nice. Must be time to start deleting all that male enhancement spam I have been saving. ;-)

As for having soul, Porsche is the church I worship in while driving the twisties. Can I get an 'amen'?

Part II - It's quite obvious that Sameer's Lambo pal was trying to get into Sameer's head - and it worked! The best way to show that a$$ clown one better is to prove you are the better man is to ignore him or else he has already won - race or no. (looks like my lower education is starting to pay off ;-)

If you are happy with what you have, why does it matter what someone else thinks?
