Rear Center Reflector

I'm new to the middle-year scene and am trying to figure out the center reflector differences. Mine is a little roughed-up and I'd like to find a replacement.

My question is do I need to stick to a certain year range for these?? It seems the mounting of these differed through the years. I know I definitely want a 'black' letter one as I have now.

A quick education would be appreciated.

IIRC, All the "black letter" reflectors are NLA from Porsche. You'll need to go for a used one.

Right, I'm navigating the 'used' waters and I notice in some pics there are different mounting attachments. Am I limited to using a reflector from a certain year range??

I'm not sure where the mounting changed for earlier years but it changed when the black lettering went over to near transparent.....'87?
