Rear PORSCHE reflective panel. Removal.
Does anyone know how to remove the rear PORSCHE reflective panel? My car is an '84 and I've heard it's held on by clips; can't seem to find these clips.

many are held on by sticky double-sided tape..

Up above the muffler is a long sheetmetal cover held on by screws. Remove it and you can get at the clips. You will need to spread the spring clip teeth away from the plastic studs they are on and the reflector will come off. I used a pair of needlenose pliers and a small screwdriver.(Car was an SC)

Have you removed the reflector? I checked the area you described and found exactly the panel that needs to be removed for access. I'm looking to polish the surface and wonder if it's worth removing for this. If there's a chance of breaking the plastic studs, then it may be better to polish on the car. Your thoughts?? The plastic studs are about 1/2" dia. . They are fairly strong. I had a reflecter that was damaged by paint remover when stripping the body prior to a repaint. I replaced it with a good one I bought on Ebay. I would try to polish on the car because of the nuisance getting it off and on more than the chance of damaging it.
