Which Porsche would complement your 911?
Ok, I love all Porsches and I was thinking about which one I would like as a future stable mate for the 911.
It would be great to have a 914, but rust issues is kind of a pain. This goes for the 356 as well. The 928 (GTS guise) would be awesome, but it's a little thirsty on gas. Maintenance would also be high ( but would it be higher than a 911 Turbo?). The 968 is underrated, but is rare and IMO looks much better than its predecessors. **I'd consider the Boxster as well, but unless I swap the Cab for a coupe (maybe a 964T or 993), it would be a little redundant no? So which one would you have to share the garage with your 911 (isn't this fun :) ?) |
another 911, only different - either a nice early longhood, a track car, or a 993.
|
i am with jgordon. an early S.
|
Papa Smurf!!!
|
Ditto- another one....preferably an early MFI lightweight.
|
Only a 911 compliments a 911. I agree if you have a late model one, get an early model in same condition as other one.
|
Definitely a 904
|
904 or 911 coupe -
|
I really want a 911 (993, 996, 997) C4S as a daily driver. But as far as complementing my 911, it would be a 356 Speedster in black that is way out of budget for now.

Paint to sample (L305) Royal blue...aka Arrow Blue... Cayman S to go along side my 1969 911E race car of the same color.....
Yep..... I'm a sucker, and I'm on the wait list. |
A boxster isnt redundant to a 911, it is a much different car....
having owned both, the boxster is a much less "seat of your pants" driver...more refined....Of course in that refinement, you lose some of the "feel"......If I had the space, I would have both.... And you can never have too many rag tops..... Chris |
A 73 2.7 RS or a 550 Spyder if I had the money. Champagne dreams aside, my beer budget car would be a 73 S or 914/6.

now, what drools? ;) to the original Q: 916, 550, 930 |
I have my 930 cab. The family could use a twin turbo Cayenne.
|
Definitly a 914, just find one that's solid, and that someone else has put the $$ into.
-I ran a 73 2.0 for the last 4 years, put 5-7k miles a year on it and had a blast! it was the easiest Porsche to work on i've ever had, was the cheapest to run, and was the most fun to drive.. Don't get me wrong I love my sc, but hands down a solid 914 is one of the most fun to drive porsche's you can find. |

For that reason, I vote Cayman. Or, if you really want a luxury liner, a 996 coupe. |
black 959
|
930. For the money can't be beat.
|
914-6 3.6 sure sounds nice right now.
An old bathtub would also be nice but agree with you on the rust issues. JoeA |
Got the early S. A 914-6 or better yet a 916 would be very cool. If I were to buy another 911 style, it would be a black 930 or retired 935. A 993 coupe for wifey with a tip. God thats a big wish list.
